NERS

Parkwood Community Leisure is committed to encouraging healthier lifestyles and physical activity for those who need it most. The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) is a Welsh Government funded initiative aimed at making physical activity a new way of life for people who suffer from health problems in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The initial 16 week period involves a range of fun activities to help you become more active. Targets are set and progress is monitored and at the end of the 16 weeks the team discuss with you ways in which you can continue to achieve your exercise goals by making physical activity a key part of your life.

Anyone aged 16 and over can be referred by their GP. Instances of referral may include: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, physical inactivity, risk of heart disease, obesity, osteoporosis, diabetes, mental health issues, and weight management issues.

If you feel that you are eligible to receive discounted rates through NERS, or to find out more about the scheme please contact your GP or call the Exercise Referral Team on 01446 403000 and select your nearest centre.

PENARTH DISTRICT BADMINTON CLUB

A competitive badminton club for people of all ages. The club allows indiviudals to participate in singles and doubles games against mixed opposition to provide both enjoyment and development in the sport.

Penarth Swimming Club teaches children to swim and encourages them to progress on to competitive swimming within structured competitions.
